Williams discusses energy plans during brief stop in Marshall

It is amazing to me -- actually, it shouldn't be, I guess! -- how resources jump at me once I have declared interest in a subject. Just yesterday I had determined that alternative energy would be my main emphasis for activism. Last night, the Science Channel had a show about energy sources called "Eco-Tech." Today I open the newspaper's webpage and find this story! Awesome!

Sometimes I think I am much sicker (mentally) than I or anyone else thinks I am. Other times I feel confident that there is very little wrong with me at all. What is real? Is there a "real"? Perhaps they are both real, it's just two different perspectives on the same data -- namely my daily thoughts, actions, and experiences.

The Edge

I stand on the edge of the precipice, only a centimeter from certain death.

How did I get here? The last time I looked, I was at a party. It was a very pleasant party. I was having a lot of fun. There were many intriguing people there. And the band was playing great music.

Now all I hear is the keening of the wind as it blows through my body, slowly freezing my heart and numbing my mind. No one else is here. There is no light except the dim moonlight reflected on the snow. Even the moon is shadowed; the Lunar Goddess has been betrayed.

I betrayed her.

I shift my weight to the balls of my feet, closing my eyes and imagining the sensation of falling. I feel no fear, just a gentle sadness. No, that's not true. I'm not really sad, just resigned. For the first time in my life, everything seems right. All is in place. Just one more thing to do.

Without hesitation, I spread my arms and lean forward.

Better luck next time.

The ones who feed but never weep

The demons whisper in their sleep

Until their hearts are dry as ash

But they are young, and they are brash

Their twisting postures count for naught

Artistic License

I miss posting at deviantART. I haven't left, I simply haven't been as gung-ho as I was for awhile. I was hypomanic then and enjoyed such activities a lot more than I do now that I'm mildly depressed. I also became somewhat disillusioned with my own (lack of) artistic ability, especially in drawing. I let my mom's less-than-positive opinions about it lower my confidence in my ability to improve. I gave up, at least temporarily. I don't intend for it to be permanent.

As for fractals -- well, I became bored with them to be honest. I would like to do more Paint Shop work though. I know I have only scratched the surface of photo editing possibilities.
